JAMB authorizes free registration for those with impairments for the 2024 UTME
|Persons Living with Disability who want to take the 2024–2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination can register for free, according to the Joint Admission and Matriculations Board.
During the nationwide registration process launch for prospective candidates, Ishaq Oloyede, the JAMB Registrar, revealed this information.
Oloyede noted that as a kind of assistance, JAMB will provide free application paperwork to all categories of Persons Living With Disability when announcing that registration for the 2024 matriculation exams will open on Monday, or today.
According to the announcement for the 2024 UTME/DE, “JAMB will issue free application documents to all categories of Persons Living with Disabilities in order to support the PLWD.”
Oloyede, who revealed that steps had been taken to guarantee a seamless election process for every candidate, announced that audio books will now be given to all candidates who are blind.
The registrar described the creation as a digital take on the classic reading book, adding that it will be available in widely used audio formats including MP3, WMV, and WMA and function on any gadget capable of streaming audio files.
He claimed that the idea to make audiobooks available was raised at the inaugural National Conference on Equal Opportunity of Access to Higher Education in Nigeria.
According to the examination board, those with Down syndrome, autism, dyslexia, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder are among the other groups that will benefit from the free registration in addition to blind candidates.”The candidates with Down syndrome, autism, dyslexia, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) will now be listed under the disability group,” he declared.
