DIRECTIONS FOR CANDIDATES OFFERED PROVISIONAL ADMISSION FOR THE 2023–2024 ACADEMIC SESSION

  • In order to formally accept the offer of provisional admission, candidates must follow these guidelines:
  • A JAMB admission letter will not be sent to candidates who do not accept their admission via JAMB CAPS, and they would be considered not admitted.
  • The University of Nigeria website (unn.edu.ng) or portal (unnportal.edu.ng) allows you to print and download a Payment Invoice that includes a Remitta number. You can pay the invoice at any Commercial Bank, including UNN Microfinance Bank, by logging in with your JAMB Registration number there.
  • The acceptance fee for candidates is Thirty Thousand Naira Only (N30, 000.00), which must be paid with the Payment Invoice. Get a confirmation slip at the bank with your confirmation number and invoice number on it, and make sure the invoice number is entered correctly.
  • After logging in with your JAMB Registration Number, Confirmation Number, and Invoice Number, return to the University of Nigeria website (unn.edu.ng) or portal (unnportal.edu.ng), print the admission slip, and finish the online acceptance form.
  • Continue registering and paying the remaining fees as directed by the University of Nigeria website.
  • It should be noted by applicants that this admittance is temporary.
  • The offer of admission will be rescinded if, at any point in the future, including the final year, it is found that a candidate does not meet the faculty/departmental and minimum university entry requirements for the course, as specified by the university Senate and published in the JAMB brochure.

Applicants who are granted provisional admission must follow these guidelines in order to formally accept the offer:

How to Use JAMB CAPS to Accept Your Admission

  1. Navigate to the JAMB Portal at JAMB eFacility Portal. (We advise using a Chrome browser on your mobile device or a laptop or desktop computer.)
  2. Login with your Email and Password.
  3. Next, find Check Admission Status and click on it.
  4. If all that appears on the page is Welcome, that’s okay. To switch from mobile view to desktop mode, simply click the settings button in the upper right corner of the Google Chrome window while using a phone browser.
  5. Select Admission Status from the menu on the left.
  6. Verify that you have been admitted after your information has been successfully loaded.
  7. You will see that the Accept entrance and Reject Admission buttons are activated if you have been granted entrance. The buttons will appear faint if they don’t. By selecting the appropriate button under your Admission Profile, you can now accept or reject your admission offer.

What Happens After Admission?

Proceed with obtaining the required clearance and registration after verifying your admission status through the UNN admission list.

  1. First, find out how much UNN is asking for as an acceptance fee in order to accept your offer of admission. Keep in mind that failing to pay the acceptance fee indicates that you have declined the offer of admission, and you risk losing your spot to another applicant.
  2. In order to prepare the necessary costs as quickly as possible, you must next ascertain the UNN school fees for your course or faculty. It is important to remember that paying your school fees right away after paying your admission fee will help you avoid missing your official matriculation date and not being able to access UNN’s student database.
  3. It is also necessary for you to prepare all the necessary paperwork for your new faculty and school registration and clearance. Documents like O-level results (WAEC, NECO, etc.), a letter of admission from JAMB, a birth certificate, an LGA identity certificate, a printout of the JAMB result, an attestation letter from a parent or guardian, etc., could be included in this. The entire list of required documents is always available from your faculty or the admissions office at your school.
  4. It is crucial that you familiarize yourself with UNN’s academic and general rules and regulations by reading them thoroughly. Failure to do so could result in expulsion or other unfavorable consequences.
  5. Obtaining your departmental and faculty lecture schedules as soon as feasible will allow you to begin attending lectures when you have finished all the required registration and fees. Your academic career at UNN will run more smoothly if you attend lectures.
  6. Finally, don’t be afraid to seek advise and ask questions of the instructors and administrative staff at your new school. Being viewed as naive and uninformed is preferable to making mistakes and wasting time doing things incorrectly. Additionally, make an effort to become friends with some of the top kids in senior classes and above so that you can start receiving advice from them on how to succeed in school.

Best wishes on your acceptance. Warm regards!
