DELSU Notifies Students of the Screening, Fee, and Online Registration Deadlines

The Delta State University (DELSU) Management has sent out a message to all of its students regarding the deadlines for online registration, fee payments, and the screening process. The following is the notice:

DELSU Notifies Students of the Screening, Fee, and Online Registration Deadlines

The management team discussed the issues of screening deadlines, school fee payments, and registration deadlines for both new and lapsed students during an emergency meeting on Monday, January 8, 2024. Upon reexamining the matter, Management considered the following:

(i) Given the large number of students who had not yet paid their tuition and registered for classes, the report on student progress on these two items was anything but promising;

(ii) the Students Union Executive’s request to extend the deadline for paying school fees,as mentioned in its letter to the University Management dated 5th January, 2024 citing the financial difficulties on parents/guardians and students generated by the current economic hardship in the country

(iii) the new curriculum as it relates to students registration which came out late for implementation included faults, which also slowed down the speed of registration by students;

(iv) the necessity for recently admitted students to correctly re-upload their biographical information on JAMB portals in order to expedite the acquisition of their admission letters and facilitate the completion of their registration; and

(v) Given that employees’ following month’s wages are due at the end of January, parents’ and guardians’ expenses from the holiday season make it challenging to set aside money.
In light of this, Management made the following decision following careful consideration:

(i) there will be no more extensions; the deadline for both new and current students to register on the university site and pay their tuition has been extended to February 5, 2024.

(ii) However, starting on February 6, 2024, late registration and payment of school fees would be punished with a fine of 10,000 Naira (N10,000.00).

As a result, worried students are urged to take advantage of this choice made by the university administration by completing all tasks linked to screening, paying tuition, and registering for classes online before February 6, 2024.
