The INTERACT Africa Scholarship is a fully funded study opportunity that covers the entire costs of your tuition, travel to and from the host country, visa, and a monthly stipend of 1230 Euros.

INTERACT Africa Scholarship Details:

The INTERACT Africa Scholarship aims to deal with Mobility in Innovative Green Technologies for Climate Change Mitigation and Sustainable Bioeconomy.

A project supported by the European Union (EU) that promotes academic mobility within Africa is called INTERACT-Africa. Chemistry, biology, and information technology are the main areas of study for this project, with a focus on turning organic waste into useful bioproducts that can help societies transition to more socially and environmentally sustainable levels of growth.

INTERACT-Africa aims at:

• Promoting inclusive learning mobility opportunities by enhancing capacity building of HEIs by focusing on training and education in green Chemistry, Biology and Information Technology aimed at developing a skilled workforce capable of implementing sustainable practices

• Fostering entrepreneurship and support the establishment of green technology businesses in Africa by providing mentorship, access to funding, and technical support to aspiring entrepreneurs and start-ups working in the field of green Chemistry, Biology and Information technology

• Facilitating networking and knowledge sharing among businesses to promote innovation and sustainable economic growth through provision of internships, cooperative education programs, and hands-on learning opportunities.

Eligibility Requirements for INTERACT Africa Scholarship 2024

You must do the following in order to be eligible for the INTERACT Africa Scholarship 2024:

• Meet minimum requirement for admission into Masters and PhD programmes as stipulated by the host University’s Senate/regulating body.

• Provide proof that the candidate is a national of and residence of an eligible country.

• Be of African nationality and residing in Africa at the time of application.

• All interested candidates must submit a research concept paper in the intended area of study (1 page, Times New Roman, single spacing).

• Secure admission as confirmed by an admission letter from the host university.

• Declare not to have already benefited from a previous student scholarship under the projects selected in the framework of the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme 2022-2027.

• Commit not to benefit from another EU-funded scholarship scheme to implement the same activity during their Intra-Africa mobility period.

Benefits of INTERACT Africa Scholarship 2024

• Tuition fees and research costs for the duration of the study.

• Comprehensive health and accident insurance cover

• Monthly stipend/allowance of Euro 1,230 per month for PhD and 890 per month for the Masters.

• This also includes travel costs to and from the host institution, Visa costs, and settling allowance.

• For PhD students, the maximum duration of a scholarship is 36 months.

• For MSc students, the maximum duration of a scholarship is 24 months.

Required Documents for INTERACT Africa Scholarship 2024

To apply, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents;

• Application Form

• Proof of African origin and residency

• A research concept paper in the intended area of study (1 page, Times New Roman, single spacing).

• Motivation letter reflecting innovative technologies in climate change and mitigation.

• Recommendation letters and/ reference letters (two). One from an academic advisor or professor/lecturer.

To apply for the INTERACT Africa Scholarship, all interested candidates should follow the steps outlined below;
