King’s College President applaud Afe Babalola varsity’s achievements
|President of King’s College London, the premier institution of higher learning in the United Kingdom (UK), Prof. Shitij Kapur have applaud Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD)‘s accomplishments within a decade of its founding and dubbed as unparalleled.
Kapur expressed his surprise that King’s College took more than a century to reach the student population of over 8,000, which ABUAD recorded in less than a decade.
This was said by him over the weekend at the Afe Babalola Centre for Transnational Education’s opening ceremony at King’s College London’s ABUAD campus.
The President of King’s College, who brought some management staff to the occasion, said that the ABUAD Multi System Hospital is yet another incredible breakthrough accomplished by the young bastion of learning within an epoch of its establishment.
He claimed that the team’s goal was to learn from ABUAD’s ambition and mission, which led to its record-breaking accomplishments in such a brief period of time.
Speaking at the event was Prof., vice president for international engagement and service at King’s College. The Center, according to Funmi Olonisakin, will offer the best students in Africa the chance to receive a quality education.
In addition, Chief Afe Babalola (SAN), the founder of ABUAD, described the opening of the Center as a guarantee that people from low-income backgrounds would have access to education while answering questions from reporters.
He said: “This development gives me hope that the future is bright and that the underprivileged will have access to education. Like in my own situation, there are a lot of people who cannot afford to attend college.
