Azman University in Kano, led by Founder and Pro-Chancellor Abdulmunaf Yunusa Sarina, has reiterated its commitment to providing high-quality education.
Unlike many private institutions that are driven by profit, Sarina has committed to providing an excellent education.
Sarina reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the successful establishment and operation of the academic institution during the inauguration of the university’s Board of Trustees (BoT) and Governing Council.
The Board of Trustees and the governing council will be critical in assisting the university’s debut and ongoing operations.
Sarina, the head of the Azman Group of Companies, began the quest to set up the university five years ago with the goal of making a substantial contribution to education and the growth of prospective university students.
He expressed gratitude to the Nigeria Universities Commission (NUC) for its essential assistance and encouragement throughout the founding process.
Sarina also declared that Azman University would provide free education to disadvantaged youngsters who have the prerequisites but lack the financial resources to pursue a university education.
He stated that Azman University would maintain high standards by recruiting qualified employees and academics and admitting excellent students, emphasizing the institution’s dedication to quality.
The university is fully prepared to begin operations after meeting all of the NUC’s conditions and requirements.
Chancellor Arthur Eze, who was in attendance at the inauguration, recalled his strong relationship with the North, notably Kano, during the reign of former Kano Governor, the late Abubakar Rimi.
He recalls obtaining free airtime from CTV Kano, the state-owned television network.
Demonstrating his continued support for the region, Eze donated N800 million to aid victims affected by Boko Haram.
As a gesture of support for Azman University’s establishment, he also contributed N200 million as take-off grants.
The inauguration of the board, according to Muhammad Yahuza Bello, chairman of the event and former Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, is a crucial milestone in the university’s path.
According to Bello, after obtaining its license five years ago, Azman University is now well-prepared to commence operations and strive for international recognition.”
Hafiz Abubakar, Sarki Ibrahim Makama, M.S. Haruna, Bashir Aliyu, Mannir Liman, Zainab Abdulmunafi, Mustapha A. Yunusa (BoT Secretary), Oguga Ikpeze and Ado Mohammed Maaji (Chairman of the BoT), among others, will provide valuable guidance and leadership in overseeing the institution’s affairs.
Yusuf Ibrahim Kofar Mata, a representative from Bayero University Kano, Fatima Batul Mukhtar, Kabiru Isah Dandago, Aminu Kabir, Haruna Aliyu Yar Gaya a representative from the National Universities Commission, and Mustapha Abdulmunafi Yunusa make up the governing council, which is chaired by Abdulmunafi Yunusa.
