UTME 2024: A comprehensive guide to enrolling in the JAMB DE exam

This is a significant chance for those with degrees, diplomas, or A-level certificates who want to enroll in a university degree program. This process necessitates a comprehensive grasp of the eligibility requirements, registration process, and important dates. It is crucial for many aspiring university students, especially those hoping to join at an advanced level.

The UTME form, which is for applicants seeking admission to the first year of a university program, is not the same as the JAMB Direct Entry form.
Only JAMB offices are open for registration.
It is not possible to apply for the UTME and JAMB DE in the same year.
The JAMB DE application is submitted online. It must be completed and submitted using the jamb portal.
Only twelve credentials and/or certificates are recognized and accepted by JAMB.
Only three years after the date of award can a statement of outcome be registered.
Only candidates whose DE results were not yet publicized at the time of UTME registration and those who declared at the time of registration that they were awaiting A-level results are eligible to upgrade from UTME to DE.
N3,500 is the DE fee for the 2024–2025 session. Additional payments include N1,500 for the CBT Center’s mock/UTME service charge, N700 for registration, and N500 for commission or bank fees.

Those who choose to sit for the MOCK examination will pay N7,700, while applicants who choose not to sit for the exam will pay N6,200.

A National Identity Number is required.

How to make the payment

The payment options that interested candidates can investigate are as follows.

Bank payment: To make a payment, use the e-PIN that was created on the JAMB portal.
Online payment: Make a payment through the JAMB portal using your USSD code or ATM card.
POS payment: At any authorized JAMB or CBT office, you can make a payment using POS.

To sign up, take the actions listed below:

Make a profile on JAMB.
Text your NIN to 55019 or 66019 in order to create your JAMB profile. Send to 55019 or 66019, write “NIN,” then add your 11-digit NIN number and space.

Remember that there should be a gap between your 11-digit NIN and the word NIN.

After that, a confirmation code will be emailed to you.

The candidate’s name provided by NIMC is automatically linked to the mobile phone number used to send NIN to 55019 or 66019. This number will be used in any correspondence with the candidate’s 2023 Application/Examination.

After that, enter the code to log into the JAMB portal.
To obtain the JAMB e-PIN, go to any authorized bank, CBT center, or embassy (for applicants in other countries). To obtain the e-PIN, you must have your confirmation code and pay the necessary amount.
Following your message to either 55019 or 66019, you will get:

-A 10-digit code for the profile

-Name that is registered with NIMC

-The total expense for both the mock and non-mock UTME

Displays the profile code when obtaining a form from a bank, MMO, MFB, switch, or USSD partner. The form ePIN is then provided as a text message to you.

To get a misplaced profile code back

Text [RESEND] to 55019 or 66019 using the same mobile number you used to register.
After that, the Profile Code would be obtained and sent to the cell phone number you registered.
Use the registered cell phone number to text [UTMEPIN] or [DEPIN] to 55019 or 66019 for UTME or DE, respectively, if your e-PIN is not received or misplaced.
After that, the candidate’s registered mobile phone number would receive the e-PIN.

Acceptable Requirements for Enrollment

Keep in mind that for the registration process, only 13 qualifications or certificates will be considered. Among them are:
