Anambra legislator takes up appointment to teach in Alma Mater
|Hon. Henry Mbachu, the lawmaker who represents Awka South 1 State Constituency in the State House of Assembly Anambra, has accepted a teaching position at Igwebuike Grammar School in Awka.
The legislator, who had previously been a student at the institution and had begun his teaching career there, and would be lecturing physics.
The legislator had already visited the school on June 27, 2023, before asking the Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, to teach there.
The commissioner approved the application in a letter mailed to the politician from the office of the commissioner for education, which THISDAY obtained. The commissioner appreciated the member of parliament for the effort.
The legislator, who started lessons with the learners on Tuesday, devoted two hours to their teaching before heading to the state House of Assembly to meet his fellow lawmakers for the session.
Mbachu stated, “I was part of this magnificent bastion of learning.” The cornerstone of the educational characteristics I hold in this life was set here. I accomplished it through hard work and perseverance.
Doing this is a chance to give back and express gratitude for everything I have acquired from this institution.”
