A Brief History of the College
Under the administration of His Excellency, Late ALHAJI ADAMU ATTAH, the College was founded in 1980 as the School of Nursing, Obangede, Kwara State. The Okehi Local Government Council owned the Model Nursery/Primary School on the current site at the time.
In June 1980, the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) granted the College provisional approval. After Kogi State was established in August 1991, the institution was passed down to the Kogi State Government under the name institution of Nursing, Obangede.
Professionally, the school experienced a number of accrediting inspections that resulted in the college requesting higher (75) indexing, which eventually led to the school receiving provisional accreditation after initially receiving full accreditation. As of November 2013, the school had graduated roughly 2450 nurses and had seen changes in the growth of its infrastructure.
