Ministry of education Ogun commence training of teachers
|With the help of new teaching methodologies and quality assurance, the Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has increased its efforts to enhance learners’ knowledge and teaching abilities.
A 2-day workshop on the Progressive Science Initiative (PSI) and Progressive Mathematics Initiative (PMI) for District Education Officers across the country was launched by Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, Special Adviser to the Governor in the Ministry in the 20 local government areas and chosen senior officers in the education sector at Tech-Hub, Abeokuta.
According to Arigbabu, the PSI – PMI initiative involves the use of technology in the classrooms. This was stated in a statement signed by Mr. Samuel Ogungbesan, Press Officer, MOESandT, who also stated that the development would allow students to have a better understanding of various subjects for improved performance and academic excellence.
Insisting that the training would bring out the best in them as they meaningfully contributed to the government initiative, the governor’s aide urged the participants to pay attention and ensure full participation.
Mr. Fatai Osunsanya, the project manager for the Ogun State Economic Transformation Project (OGSTEP), stated in his presentation that the training’s purpose was to familiarize participants with the idea, framework, and advantages of the PSI and PMI and to prepare them for the growth of the State’s educational sector.
