Kebbi Govt to award scholarship to rescued Yauri students

The Federal Government College (FGC), Birnin Yauri, rescued girls will receive scholarships, according to a pledge made by the Kebbi State Government.

Gov. Nasir Idris, the governor of Kebbi state, revealed this to Nigeria/TUILP International College, which paid him a courtesy visit on Friday in Birnin Kebbi.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on June 17, 2021, bandits raided FGC Birnin Yauri and kidnapped two teachers as well as male and female students.

The female students, according to NAN were held for more than a year before being freed as a result of coordinated efforts by the government and their parents.

The governor promised to provide the girls with scholarships so they could continue their education and pursue their aspirations in a variety of fields.

He promised to collaborate with the Turkish organization to advance education, health, and youth empowerment, adding that he had been keeping an eye on the group’s operations for a while and had discovered that they were sincere and moral.

The governor expressed satisfaction that his administration had started building and repairing roads to give the state capital a facelift and promised that similar projects would be expanded to other Senatorial Districts.

In order to provide office space for all of the state’s civil servants, he promised that he would sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the completion of the state secretariat by the end of the following week.

Idris urged the state’s citizens to support and cooperate with the Turkish organization as much as possible in order to advance the nation.

Earlier, Mr. Yasar Ovenc, the group’s leader and the Group Managing Director of the Surat Group of Companies, gave the governor the assurance that the group was ready to work with the state government to advance youth empowerment, health, and education.

He asked for the names of the Yauri girl students who had been kidnapped and made a scholarship offer, stressing that education, especially for girls, would be their top priority.

According to NAN, Mr. Feyzulah Bigin, the managing director and chief executive officer of Nigeria/TULP International College, and Mr. Imaran Ngin, the president of UFUK Dialogue, were in the Turkish delegation. (NAN).
