AAUA Assures Students ASUU Strike Will End Soon

Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA) has reassured students and stakeholders that the ongoing ASUU strike will soon be resolved following fresh intervention by the Ondo State Government The university says significant progress has already been made toward addressing the financial issues that triggered the industrial action

The assurance comes amid concerns over reports that the Students’ Union Government (SUG) allegedly issued a 72 hour ultimatum to the state government, demanding an immediate resolution of the strike However, the university management has described the reported ultimatum as unnecessary, insisting that the government has already taken decisive steps to restore normal academic activities

With an intervention fund already approved and the payment process underway, the university remains optimistic that lecturers will soon return to classrooms, allowing students to continue their academic programs without prolonged disruption

AAUA Management Expresses Confidence Over Strike Resolution

The management of Adekunle Ajasin University disclosed that the Ondo State Government has taken concrete measures to resolve the ongoing industrial dispute involving the institution’s chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU)

In an official statement signed by the Deputy Registrar, Information, Protocol and Public Relations, Mr. Sola Imoru, the university explained that discussions with the state government had yielded positive outcomes aimed at settling outstanding financial obligations

According to the management, these efforts make any public ultimatum unnecessary since meaningful action is already in progress

Ondo State Approves Special Intervention Fund

One of the major developments announced by the university is the approval of a special intervention fund by the Governor of Ondo State and Visitor to the University, Hon. (Dr.) Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa

The institution revealed that the approved fund is intended to help clear outstanding financial commitments that contributed to the industrial action

Payment Process Already Underway

The university further explained that the release of the approved funds has commenced and that the Students’ Union leadership had already been informed about the development before the reports of the alleged ultimatum surfaced

Management expressed confidence that the intervention would pave the way for a quick resolution of the strike

Students Asked to Remain Calm and Patient

AAUA has appealed to students to remain peaceful, patient, and law abiding while the financial processes are being completed.

The university emphasized that the government is committed to resolving the issues as quickly as possible and urged students not to panic over the temporary disruption of academic activities

Management believes lectures and other academic engagements will resume once the industrial dispute is officially called off
