Ajayi Crowther University (ACU) has recorded a major academic breakthrough as the National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to several of its postgraduate and undergraduate programs The development reinforces the institution’s growing reputation for academic excellence in Nigeria’s higher education sector
The accreditation, released after the NUC’s October/November 2025 exercise, also includes the approval of new undergraduate programs expected to begin in the 2025/2026 academic session This marks a significant expansion for the university and strengthens its academic offerings across multiple faculties
According to the report, the decision reflects the university’s compliance with national academic standards and its continued commitment to quality education
NUC Grants Full Accreditation to Multiple ACU Programs
The National Universities Commission confirmed full accreditation for several programs at Ajayi Crowther University following its comprehensive academic review
The approved programs cut across postgraduate, education, and health related disciplines, signaling strong institutional performance
Postgraduate Programmes Fully Accredited
The Commission granted full accreditation to three master’s degree programs in the Faculty of Administration and Management Sciences:
- M.Sc. Accounting
- M.Sc. Finance
- M.Sc. Business Administration
These approvals further strengthen ACU’s postgraduate academic structure and research capacity
Education and Health Sciences Boost
In the Faculty of Education, four programs received full accreditation:
- Education Computer Science
- Education Economics
- Education English Language
- Guidance and Counselling
Additionally, the Radiography and Radiation Science programme in the Allied Health Sciences also secured full accreditation status
NUC Approves New Undergraduate Programs for ACU
Beyond accreditation approvals, the NUC also gave the green light for the establishment of new full time undergraduate programs at ACU’s main campus
The newly approved courses include:
- B.Sc. Broadcasting
- B.Sc. Journalism and Media Studies
- B.Sc. Information and Media Studies
These programs are set to commence in the 2025/2026 academic session and are expected to boost ACU’s presence in media, communication, and information studies
