FG, JAMB Hail Rite Foods’ ₦35m Scholarships for Top UTME Students

The Federal Government and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) have applauded Rite Foods Limited for rewarding academic excellence with ₦35 million in scholarships for the highest performing candidates in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)

The scholarship initiative, presented during a ceremony in Lagos, recognised seven outstanding students representing Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones and the JAMB Equal Opportunity Group The programe highlights the growing role of private sector organisations in supporting education and empowering brilliant young Nigerians

Speaking during the scholarship presentation ceremony on Tuesday in Lagos, the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, represented by his Special Adviser, Dr. Ismaila Adiatu, praised Rite Foods Limited for its commitment to educational development

He noted that the company’s decision to reward outstanding UTME candidates demonstrates that Nigerian owned businesses can successfully compete with international brands while making meaningful contributions to society

The Minister also commended the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Rite Foods Limited, Seleem Adegunwa, for establishing the Rite Foods National Academic Excellence Awards in partnership with JAMB

He described the scholarship programme as a practical demonstration of the company’s dedication to discovering, nurturing, and rewarding exceptional young talents across Nigeria

The ₦35 million scholarship package was awarded to the seven highest-scoring candidates in the 2026 UTME
