The Federal University of Health Sciences and Technology, Tsafe (FUHSATT) has recorded a major milestone after receiving official approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence 18 full time undergraduate degree programs beginning with the 2026/2027 academic session
The approval opens the door for prospective students seeking admission into highly sought after programs such as Medicine and Surgery (MBBS), Dentistry, Nursing Science, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Science, and several technology focused courses The development further strengthens FUHSATT’s position as one of Nigeria’s fast growing specialized universities
Following a successful resource verification exercise by the NUC, the institution has been certified to offer the new programs after meeting the Commission’s requirements on academic staffing, facilities, laboratories, and other learning resources
FUHSATT Receives Official NUC Approval
The National Universities Commission (NUC) conveyed its approval in a letter dated 9 July 2026, signed by the Acting Director of Academic Planning, Abubakar M. Girei, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu
According to the Commission, the approval followed a comprehensive resource verification exercise conducted to determine the university’s readiness to deliver quality education across the proposed programs
The approval authorizes FUHSATT to admit students into the newly approved undergraduate programs from the 2026/2027 academic session

The Commission also directed the university to maintain the approved program titles exactly as authorized Any future changes to program names or structure must first receive formal approval from the NUC
