GOMSU Sets General UTME Cut Off Mark for 2026 Admission
The University Senate has approved a general minimum UTME score of 150 for the 2026 admission exercise Candidates who scored 150 or above in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination may apply for programs whose required cut off marks fall within that range
However, some competitive courses require significantly higher scores, particularly within the College of Medical Sciences

- MBBS (Medicine and Surgery): 200
- Nursing Science: 200
- Public Health: 190
- Anatomy: 160
- Physiology: 160
- Human Nutrition and Dietetics: 160
- Pharmacology: 160
- Faculty of Agriculture
All listed programmes, including Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Animal Science, Crop Science, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, Soil Science, Forestry Resource and Wildlife Management, and Horticulture and Landscape Management, require a minimum score of 150
Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
Programs such as Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Economics, English Language, History and International Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Sociology, Public Administration, Library and Information Science, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Christian and Value Development Studies, and Islamic Studies all have a minimum cut off mark of 150
Faculty of Education
Education related programs including Education and Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Geography, and Education and Christian Religious Studies require a minimum UTME score of 150
Minimum Age Requirement for Admission
Candidates younger than 16 may only be considered under exceptional circumstances if they:
- Score 320 or above in the UTME
- Obtain special approval from the university
- Secure an indemnity form endorsed by the Vice Chancellor
Admission Timeline and Acceptance Guidelines
The university noted that admissions into Nigerian public universities are expected to be completed on or before October 31, 2026
