Osun State University, popularly known as UNIOSUN, has achieved a major academic milestone after securing full accreditation for 29 academic programs from the National Universities Commission (NUC)
The latest accreditation success further strengthens the university’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s rapidly growing state owned institutions known for academic stability, quality education, and research excellence
According to the institution, all programs presented during the October and November 2025 accreditation exercise received full approval from the NUC, marking a 100 per cent success rate for the university

The university’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ademola Adesoji, disclosed the development in a statement released in Osogbo on Tuesday
He explained that the approval followed a comprehensive accreditation exercise conducted by officials of the National Universities Commission across several departments and faculties within the institution
According to the statement, the accreditation covered programs in Administration and Management, Allied Health Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Computing, Education, Sciences, and Social Sciences
The development means that the affected programs have fully satisfied the academic and infrastructural standards required by the NUC for Nigerian universities

The university described the achievement as a reflection of its commitment to quality teaching, modern learning facilities, experienced lecturers, and a stable academic calendar
Adesoji noted that the accreditation success further confirms the institution’s position as one of the fast-rising universities in Nigeria’s education sector
He added that the approval was formally communicated through a letter signed by the NUC Director of Accreditation, Abraham Chundusu
The university also stressed that the achievement was made possible through years of investment in academic development, research growth, and quality assurance systems

The Vice Chancellor of the university, Odunayo Adebooye, described the accreditation success as another landmark achievement for the institution
According to him, the university’s 100 per cent success rate reflects strategic planning and consistent efforts aimed at positioning the institution for global relevance
He said the university remains committed to sustaining high academic standards while expanding opportunities for students and researchers
The Vice Chancellor also appreciated members of staff, students, alumni, the governing council, and the Osun State Government for their continued support toward the growth of the institution
