LASU Opens Admission Screening for 2026/2027

The Lagos State University (LASU) has officially commenced its 2026/2027 Post UTME and Direct Entry admission screening exercise for qualified candidates seeking admission into various undergraduate programs

Prospective students who selected LASU as their first choice institution in the 2026 UTME can now begin their online screening registration The exercise serves as a critical step in the admission process and is mandatory for all eligible applicants

With hundreds of admission seekers expected to participate, candidates are advised to understand the eligibility requirements, registration procedures, available courses, and important deadlines to avoid mistakes that could affect their admission chances

LASU Begins 2026/2027 Admission Screening Exercise

LASU has opened its online admission screening portal for candidates seeking admission into 100 Level through UTME and 200 Level through Direct Entry for the 2026/2027 academic session

The university stated that participation in the screening exercise is compulsory for all applicants who wish to be considered for admission into any of its accredited undergraduate programs

Who Is Eligible to Apply for LASU Post UTME?

To qualify for the screening exercise, candidates must:

  • Choose LASU as their first choice institution in the 2026 UTME
  • Score a minimum of 195 in the UTME
  • Be at least 16 years old by October 1, 2026
  • The screening exercise is open to:
  • UTME candidates seeking 100 level admission
  • Direct Entry candidates seeking 200 level admission
  • LASU Pre MDegree Studies (PDS) graduates
  • JUPEB candidates and other Direct Entry applicants who selected LASU as first choice

For Direct Entry admissions, the university clarified that only LASU Diploma qualifications will be accepted, except for NCE holders applying to programmes within the Faculty of Education

Candidates of Lagos State origin who have successfully completed verification through the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) will have their indigene status automatically validated during the screening process

How to Register for LASU Screening Exercise

  • The registration process is entirely online.

Step 1 Access the LASU Portal

  • Visit the LASU admission portal and navigate to:
  • Student New Applicants UTME/DE Screening

Step 2 Login

  • Enter your:
  • UTME Registration Number
  • Surname

Step 3 Pay the Screening Fee

Select:

  • Admission Screening Fee
  • Ojo Campus
  • Appropriate Student Category
  • After successful payment, return to your dashboard to continue registration.

Step 4 Complete the Screening Form

Applicants will be required to provide:

  • Personal information
  • Contact details
  • Parent or guardian information
  • Course selection
  • O’Level examination results
  • Number of sittings

Candidates may update certain information if necessary, although additional charges may apply for corrections or rescreening.

LASU O’Level Requirements for Admission

Applicants must possess at least five relevant credit passes in not more than two sittings.

  • However, specific programs have additional requirements
  • For Medicine and Dentistry
  • O’Level results must be obtained in one sitting only

For Engineering Programs:

Candidates combining two sittings must possess six credits, including:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry

Applicants seeking admission into Aeronautic and Astronautic Engineering must also have a credit pass in Further Mathematics

LASU further emphasized that English Language remains compulsory for admission into all programs

The university also warned that examination results obtained after July 2026 will not be accepted for the screening exercise.

Upload Your O’Level Results on JAMB CAPS

  • The university has advised all candidates to upload their O’Level results on the JAMB CAPS portal before the screening deadline
  • Failure to upload the required results may affect admission consideration, even if other requirements have been met
  • Applicants should also review the official JAMB subject combination requirements for their chosen course before final submission

How LASU Will Calculate Screening Scores

Admission consideration will be based on LASU’s point based screening system

The university will assess candidates using:

  • UTME scores
  • O’Level grades in five relevant subjects
  • LASU stressed that all information submitted during registration must be accurate, as admission decisions will be based solely on the details provided by candidates.
  • Applicants are advised to carefully review all entries before final submission
