ABU Issues A Warning To The Public About Vice-Chancellor Impersonators

We would like to once more alert the public and members of the university community to the dishonest actions of a few people who have been using Prof. Kabiru Bala’s social media accounts as fronts for fraud in an attempt to deceive his esteemed connections.

Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria would like to alert the public and members of the university community to the criminal activity of a few people who have been impersonating Prof. Kabiru Bala, the vice-chancellor of the university, on social media in order to deceive gullible people.

Since 2020, when the Vice-Chancellor took over as the University’s head of administration, these illegal acts have continued, making periodic reporting of them required.

The hackers frequently communicate with the Vice-Chancellor’s contacts on Facebook, WhatsApp, and other social media sites about matters pertaining to employment offers and contracts for the delivery of computers in an attempt to defraud them.

Even though the public is being cautioned about these hackers, the University Security Division is still collaborating with other security organizations to find the con artists and bring them to justice. In order to clearly defraud them, the hackers frequently communicate with the Vice-Chancellor’s contacts on Facebook, WhatsApp, and other social media platforms about matters pertaining to contract awards and employment offers.

Using these phone numbers as proxies, some of them go by the names Dr. Samuel, Dr. Aliyu, Dr. Charles, and Prof. Line: 09077390589, 09076644778, 09043918607, 070183744778, and 08144781173.
