JAMB Opens 2026 Change of Institution Portal

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, has officially activated the 2026 Change of Institution and Course portal for candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions across Nigeria

The development gives thousands of 2026 UTME candidates another opportunity to modify their institution and course selections in line with their admission prospects, UTME scores, and preferred school requirements. Candidates can now visit accredited CBT centres nationwide to complete the process.

With admission activities gradually gaining momentum, applicants are advised to carefully review their choices before making any changes to avoid costly mistakes during the 2026/2027 admission exercise

JAMB Opens Portal for 2026 Admission Changes

According to the announcement, candidates who wish to correct or change their institution or course can now proceed with the process through approved CBT centres across the country

The activation of the portal is a crucial step for candidates who may no longer meet the cut off mark, departmental requirements, or admission conditions of their initially selected institutions or courses

JAMB advised candidates to make informed decisions before processing any changes to improve their chances of securing admission

Candidates Advised to Consider Admission Requirements

Applicants are encouraged to carefully evaluate several factors before selecting a new institution or course

These include:

UTME Performance

Candidates should compare their UTME scores with the likely cut off marks of their preferred institutions

Catchment and Admission Policies

Applicants are also advised to consider catchment areas, admission quotas, and institution specific requirements before making any changes

Course Competitiveness

Highly competitive courses may require higher scores and additional screening conditions, making it important for candidates to choose wisely

JAMB Warns Candidates Against Misinformation

JAMB urged candidates to rely only on official information from the board and their selected institutions throughout the admission process

Admission seekers are advised to regularly monitor updates to avoid falling victim to fake news, fraudsters, or misleading social media claims regarding the ongoing admission exercise

Change of Institution Process Expected to Boost Admission Chances

The activation of the change of institution and course portal is expected to help many candidates improve their admission opportunities for the 2026/2027 academic session

For many applicants, the process provides a second chance to align their academic goals with realistic admission possibilities
