According to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, a total of 1,264,940 results from the two examination days are now available for candidates This development follows earlier batches already released, bringing the total number of results so far to nearly two million

JAMB Confirms Release of Friday and Saturday UTME Results
The board confirmed that results for candidates who sat for the exam on April 17 and April 18, 2026, have been officially released
It explained that candidates can now check their scores using the official SMS method provided
How to Check Your UTME Result
Candidates are advised to send “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number (SIM) used during registration
The board reiterated that only registered phone numbers will be able to access results successfully
Over 1.2 Million Results Released in Latest Batch
JAMB disclosed that:
- 1,264,940 results were released for Friday and Saturday exams
- Earlier, 632,752 results had already been released
- Total results released so far now stand at 1,897,692
This shows steady progress in the release of results across different exam sessions
Delay and Public Reaction Over Result Release
The board had earlier apologized for delays in releasing the latest results, which were initially expected earlier than Sunday
According to the board, the delay was caused by the temporary absence of its chief executive, who was engaged in official duties
The delay triggered anxiety among candidates, many of whom took to social media to express frustration while awaiting their scores
Over 2.2 Million Candidates Registered for 2026 UTME
The 2026 UTME recorded massive participation across Nigeria and selected foreign centers
Key highlights include:
- Total registered candidates: 2,243,816
- Increase of 10.5% compared to 2025
- Examination conducted in multiple CBT centres nationwide
The exam was structured into four daily sessions to reduce congestion and improve monitoring.
State and International Registration Breakdown
Lagos State recorded the highest number of candidates with 381,814 registrations, followed by:
- Ogun: 137,156
- Oyo: 122,662
- Kaduna: 103,498
- FCT: 102,961
Outside Nigeria, participation was also recorded:
- Côte d’Ivoire: 32 candidates
- Equatorial Guinea: 16 candidates
- Burkina Faso: 14 candidates
- United Kingdom: 12 candidates
Others including Gambia, Ghana, and South Africa recorded fewer than 10 candidates each
