Lagos State University (LASU) has added another major achievement to its growing list of successes after receiving a ₦25 million award from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)
The prestigious recognition came during the 2026 JAMB Policy Meeting held in Abuja, where LASU was honoured under the National Tertiary Admissions’ Performance Merit Award (NATAP M Awards) The latest development comes shortly after the university emerged as Nigeria’s most preferred institution for the 2026 admission exercise

Lagos State University secured the position of Second Runner Up Institution in the overall category of the prestigious NATAP M Awards for the 2025 admission year
The institution recorded an aggregate score of three points across the five assessment elements used for the Mega Award category during the 6th edition of the awards

The ₦25 million cash prize was officially presented to the Vice Chancellor of LASU, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji Bello, during the 2026 JAMB Policy Meeting held on Monday, May 11, 2026, in Abuja

According to official figures, a record 84,326 candidates selected the university as their first choice institution during the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration
