NECO: National Examination Council rolls out Portal to confirm results online
On Thursday, the National Examination Council (NECO) presented its 'e-Verify' webpage, which would aid in the verification of results and prevent their manipulation and falsification.
On Thursday in Abuja, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, the Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO, reaffirmed this.
Wushishi claimed that all requests for the confirmation or verification of results were sent through its Minna headquarters, where they were processed slowly.
"The 'NECO E-Verify' is an Online Result Verification solution that guarantees instant authentication of academic and basic information about prospective candidates for admission and employment into academic institutions and workplaces, respectively," says the organization.
Wushishi claimed that the council concluded that this was the ideal time to launch the e-Verify platform due to the increased demand for results verification and confirmation by institutions both domestically and overseas.
According to the statistics that are now available, the council has noted that between 2020 and 2022, there were requests for the verification and confirmation of findings from 64 institutions in 37 different countries.
Wushishi added that, in addition to the many requests from people, comparable requests were also received from 72 institutions in Nigeria during the same time period.
Verifying results is a crucial step in ensuring the accuracy of academic qualifications.
It is undeniable that organizations like educational institutions and employers of labor rely on results verification to assist them in choosing the finest applicants for admission and employment.
Academic institutions and companies will feel more confidence that they are accepting and hiring people who have the necessary qualifications for future studies and specific employment schedules if the legitimacy of candidates' results is confirmed.
"The 'NECO e-Veify Portal' has a number of advantages, including a boost in confidence, a decrease in risk, and increased productivity. Millions of our students, educational institutions, and other stakeholders would benefit greatly from this system, according to Wushishi.”
