The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued important travel and safety guidelines for prospective corps members mobilized for the 2026 Batch B Stream II Orientation Course, urging them to prioritize their safety while travelling to orientation camps across Nigeria
With the three week orientation exercise scheduled to commence on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, the scheme has advised all prospective corps members to avoid travelling at night and to strictly follow official travel instructions throughout their journey
The announcement also confirms that Call up Numbers have been uploaded to the dashboards of eligible corps members, while Call up Letters will be released soon
NYSC Releases 2026 Batch B Stream II Orientation Schedule
The National Youth Service Corps disclosed that the 2026 Batch B Stream II Orientation Course will begin on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, across all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
The orientation program will run simultaneously nationwide and is expected to conclude on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, after the mandatory three week camping exercise
Prospective corps members are encouraged to complete all necessary preparations before the reporting date to ensure a smooth registration process
Call Up Numbers Now Available
The NYSC announced that Call up Numbers have already been uploaded to the dashboards of all successfully mobilized prospective corps members
However, the scheme noted that Call up Letters, which contain posting details and reporting instructions, will be made available shortly
Candidates are advised to regularly check their NYSC dashboards for updates and download their call up letters once released
NYSC DG Congratulates Prospective Corps Members
The Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, congratulated all graduates mobilized for the 2026 Batch B Stream II Service Year
He commended them for successfully completing their academic programs in higher institutions within and outside Nigeria, making them eligible to participate in the national service program
The DG wished every prospective corps member a successful orientation exercise and a rewarding service year
Corps Members Advised to Avoid Night Travel
Safety Remains NYSC’s Top Priority
In a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the NYSC Director General strongly advised prospective corps members to avoid travelling at night
He also urged them to strictly comply with all travel and safety guidelines while heading to their assigned orientation camps
The advice comes as part of the scheme’s continued efforts to ensure the safety and well being of corps members during the mobilization process
Prospective corps members are encouraged to plan their trips early, use reputable transport operators, keep family members informed of their movements, and remain vigilant throughout their journey
What Prospective Corps Members Should Do Before Camp
As the orientation exercise approaches, prospective corps members should:
- Check their NYSC dashboard regularly for their Call up Letter
- Print all required documents before departure
- Travel only during daylight hours
- Arrive at the orientation camp on the approved reporting date
- Follow all official NYSC travel and security advisories
Taking these precautions will help ensure a smooth and safe start to the mandatory national service program
