The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially announced the commencement date for the 2026 Batch B Stream I Orientation Course across Nigeria Thousands of prospective corps members are expected to report to orientation camps nationwide as preparations begin for the mandatory national service year
According to the scheme, registration for the 2026 Batch B Stream I orientation exercise will begin on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory The announcement has generated excitement among graduates eagerly awaiting mobilisation into the service program
NYSC also used the opportunity to remind prospective corps members about important travel safety measures, especially the dangers associated with night journeys across the country
NYSC Releases Full Schedule for 2026 Batch B Stream I Orientation
The NYSC disclosed that the orientation exercise will commence with the reception and registration of prospective corps members on Wednesday, June 10, 2026
The management also confirmed that the official swearing-in ceremony for all mobilised corps members will hold on Friday, June 12, 2026
Meanwhile, the three week orientation programme is scheduled to end on Tuesday, June 30, 2026
NYSC Warns Corps Members Against Night Travel
As part of its announcement, NYSC advised prospective corps members to prioritise their safety while travelling to their various orientation camps
The scheme strongly warned against night travel, urging corps members to suspend their journeys once it is 6pm
Safe Places Recommended for Corps Members
According to the directive, prospective corps members who are unable to complete their journeys before evening should lodge at any of the following safe locations:
- NYSC corps members’ lodges
- Military formations
- Police stations or outposts
- Palaces of traditional rulers
The scheme noted that travellers can continue their trips safely the following morning
