WAEC First Series GCE Registration Starts in 2024

This is to notify prospective candidates that registration for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, First Series, 2024, has opened.

The West African Senior School Certificate Examination for Private Candidates was first administered in two series by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) in 2024.

There would be thirty-six (36) subjects available for the examination. Before getting the registration PIN, prospective candidates are recommended to confirm the examination towns and subjects that are available by visiting the Council’s corporate website at www.waecnigeria.org.

APPLICATION FOR THE EXAMINATION

Online registration will be available for the WASSCE for Private Candidates, First Series, 2023. Candidates should register by logging on to www.waeconline.org.ng after receiving their Registration PIN. Additionally, candidates should be aware that biometric features that will be utilized for validation at the exam centers can be accommodated in the registration process.

WAEC GCE Enrollment Time
Normally, registration opens on Monday, December 18th and runs through Friday, January 22nd, 2024. The registration period closes on Monday, January 22, 2024, while the PIN generation deadline is Friday, January 19th.

APPLICATION FOR THE EXAMINATION

Online registration will be available for the WASSCE for Private Candidates, First Series in 2024. Candidates should register by logging on to www.waeconline.org.ng after receiving their Registration PIN. It is important for candidates to understand that the registration process has been tailored to include biometric features that will be utilized for verification at the examination centres.

WAEC GCE Registration Period

The exam will run from January 31st to February 17th, 2024. A mock exam for the WASSCE First Series for private candidates will be held on January 23rd and 24th, 2024, at all CBT centers that have been registered.

How to Register for the WAEC GCE

In order to acquire the Registration PIN and information VCD, candidates must pay a registration fee of N27,000 exclusively at any branch of the following banks or any authorized agent:

Candidates should register online at https://registration.waecdirect.org/ after receiving their Registration PIN.

WALK-IN-CANDIDATES
Candidates may register as “Walk-in-Candidates” if they would like to take the test after the deadline for entries has passed, as long as they do so at least 24 hours before the time of the paper(s) they want to writing. Only forty-five thousand naira (N45,000.00) is required for “Walk-in-Candidate” registration.

CANDIDATES WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Candidates with special needs must clearly describe their impairments, such as visual, low vision, spasticity, speech, hard of hearing, etc., when registering online in the same manner as normal candidates.

PLACES FOR REGISTRATION
Applicants can purchase and register for a PIN by going to the nearest “WAEC REGISTRATION POINTS,” accredited banks, Cyber Cafes, and WAEC offices.

COMPLETING REGISTRATION

During the registration period, candidates MUST finish their registration within two weeks of gaining access to the website for the first time. They have to make sure that their names, gender, birthdates, passport photos, and subjects are accurate. Additionally, they must print the Admission Notice, which will be used as identification during the exam and serve as proof of their successful enrollment. The Admission Notice will also provide the PIN for the Result Checker. The UareU digitalPersona fingerprint device is an approved fingerprint scanner.

OVERALL DETAILS

  • The test will be administered using a computer. The essay and practical exam tests will be hybrid exams in which candidates will record their responses on paper after viewing the questions on a screen. The objective papers will be entirely computer-based tests.
  • For interested applicants who enrolled for the exam and wish to become acquainted with the testing environment, there will be an online mock examination.
  • Candidates will be notified by SMS, emails, and all social media sites on the mock’s date and procedures.
  • Applicants are advised that there is no reimbursement for the registration cost.
  • The candidates must to keep checking the  website for the examination Timetable
  • Digital camera-taken passport photos must be uploaded with entries. Microsoft HD 3000 is the recommended specification for the digital camera. The passport photos ought to be of high quality, with a CONTRASTING background and either black and white or color (JPEG file only, 275 by 314 pixels, 72 dbi resolution). There can be nothing that blocks the way. Note that submitting a photo that has been altered or of low quality will result in the candidate’s entry being immediately disqualified.   • Using their registration PIN, candidates can download the WAEC website (www.waeconline.org.ng) and study the examination regulations and syllabuses.
  • Applicants are required to arrive in exam rooms without arms and in muftis. There will be no professional uniform of any kind permitted in the exam rooms.
  • Candidates who take the exam at more than one location will have their complete result voided.
  • It is not permitted to smoke in the examination room.
  • Any candidate who enters the testing room carrying a cell phone or other electronic device will have all of their results canceled.
  • Before uploading, candidates should check that their entries are complete because the Council will not be held accountable for mistakes in their personal information.
  • Any information that a candidate willingly provides at the time of registration will not be subject to modification requests.
  • The original Admission Notice must be shown by candidates when they enter the examination room.
  • In addition to having their results canceled, candidates who cheat on exams may face legal action.
  • Candidates must make sure that the email address and phone number they supply during registration are valid.
